Corporate social responsibility is an integral part of the Citadel vision. The company has been supporting institutions that work tirelessly to strengthen the community. Through sponsorship, volunteer work and profit sharing, we are constantly looking for ways to support and nurture the underprivileged communities.
Citadel supports Kaveri Vaitha Sevashrama (KVS) in Hesarghatta, an institution run by Ms. Sarojamma that provides shelter to destitute children and the elderly. Until 2011, KVS was an old age home that provided support to senior citizens. However, over the last five years, it has become a home to over 60 children aged 3-15 years. Most of these kids are either orphans or come from single parent families who are unable to look after them. The children are provided with food, clothing and education at KVS. The children attend a government school nearby and are encouraged to take up extra-curricular activities such as art, singing and dancing that are essential for their personal development.
As part of our CSR initiative, we aim to improve the quality of life of the communities we serve through long term value creation. We extend support to KSV by supplying grocery, stationery kits, books, uniforms and other daily needs. We set aside a specific share of our profits for the support and sponsorship of KVS. “It has been a successful and fulfilling association with Kaveri Vaitha Sevashrama and we are delighted to see young children bloom into responsible individuals,” says Biju Unni, Founder and Managing Director of Citadel Propcon. He adds, “We are happy to support Ms. Sarojamma in this great endeavour. Businesses cannot be successful when the society around them fails.”
Citadel aims to support this noble cause and create well-rounded individuals with the right skill and knowledge. The company wishes to empower these children and senior citizens to live their lives with dignity.
